Specific information for incoming students:requirements
Students interested in undertaking a study period at the Conservatorio Superior de Danza de Valencia within the framework of the Erasmus Programme must first verify whether a bilateral agreement exists between their home institution and our Conservatory. In the absence of such an agreement, it may be possible to establish one, provided that the home institution holds an Erasmus Charter. Without a bilateral agreement, participation as an Erasmus student is not possible. In this case, your Erasmus coordinator should contact us to initiate the procedure for signing a new Interinstitutional Agreement at: erasmusvalencia@csdanza.es
Once the agreement is confirmed, we must receive your official nomination. Please ensure that your home institution sends this nomination to our Erasmus coordinator, certifying that you have been granted Erasmus student status. The nomination must include your personal details as well as a valid e-mail address for further communication.
Please note that classes at the CSDV are taught in Spanish. Both the Dance Pedagogy module and the Choreography and Performance module include subjects with a significant theoretical component. Therefore, incoming Erasmus students must be able to demonstrate an adequate initial level of Spanish that allows them to follow the classes properly. If the student cannot provide evidence of a sufficient level of Spanish, admission as an Erasmus student at the CSDV will not be possible.
Application process
After receiving your nomination, our Erasmus coordinator will check if you can be accepted according to our bilateral agreement. If accepted, you will receive an e-mail with the link to our online application form. In this form, you must provide your personal details, information about your home institution, and the contact details of a person in case of emergency, and upload all the required documents within the indicated deadline:
- A motivation letter
- The transcript of records of your dance studies
- Spanish language certificate-minimum B2
- A video-link (vimeo, youtube…) where we could see you dancing: technique class and repertoire (around 10 minutes).
Deadlines for incoming students: nominations and application documents
- Autumn semester or whole academic year (starting in September):
- Nomination deadline: 31 May
- Deadline for students to submit the Application Form and required documents: 12 June
- Spring semester (starting in February):
- Nomination deadline: 30 November
- Deadline for students to submit the Application Form and required documents: 30 December
Selection criteria for incoming applications
Applications from incoming students will only be considered if the student provides a valid certificate proving an adequate level of Spanish. Since classes at the CSDV are taught in Spanish and both study programmes include subjects with a significant theoretical component, this language requirement is compulsory and must be fulfilled before the application can be assessed.
Once this requirement has been met, applications will be assessed on the basis of the following weighted criteria:
- Quality of the audition video: 50%
- Transcript of Records (academic performance): 30%
- Reciprocity of student exchange between the Conservatorio Superior de Danza de Valencia and the partner institution: 10%
- Motivation letter: 10%
In order to be eligible for a place as an incoming Erasmus student at the CSDV, applicants must obtain a final score equal to or higher than 50%. Final admission will also depend on the number of available places and on the suitability of the proposed study period within the academic offer of the Conservatorio Superior de Danza de Valencia.
